Nollywood actor and filmmaker Itele has responded to criticism from fans who are upset about his public support for music star Wizkid.
Itele had been promoting Wizkid’s music on his Instagram page, which didn’t sit well with some of his fans who aren’t Wizkid supporters. They threatened to boycott his movies, prompting Itele to address the issue.
In a post on Instagram, Itele urged his fans not to attack each other over his choice of favorite artist. He explained that he loves to show his support openly for the things and people he cares about.
“I’ve been noticing some reactions lately because I’ve been posting Wizkid’s music. To those who feel upset, I want to say this: we shouldn’t attack each other just because I chose my favorite artist,” Itele wrote.
He added that his true supporters know that he often uses different music on his page to share what inspires him. Itele begged his fans not to dislike him for loving Wizkid and to continue spreading love and positivity.
