The horrific ordeal of 3-year-old Abayomi Michael has left his mother, Mrs. Adenike Okunlaya, shaken and seeking justice. Abayomi was brutally beaten by his teacher, Stella Nwadigo, at Christ Mitots School in Ikorodu, Lagos, simply for struggling to write his numbers.
A disturbing video of the assault surfaced, prompting the Lagos State Police to take action. Stella Nwadigo has since been remanded in Kirikiri Prison. However, what’s even more alarming is that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Abayomi had repeatedly complained to his mother about the teacher’s abuse, but despite her reports to the school authorities, nothing was done.
As a single mother who lost her husband when Abayomi was just a year old, Mrs. Adenike has been working tirelessly to provide her son with a good life and quality education. Her pain and frustration are palpable as she seeks justice and appeals for help to ensure her son can heal and live a fulfilling life.
