Filmmaker Olajide Kareem, widely known as Seun Egbegbe, has shared his experiences from his time in prison.

Egbegbe, who served six years and eight months due to accusations of fraudulent activities, discussed his past errors in an interview with Biola Bayo.

He admitted to his mistakes but stressed that he has never been involved in taking a life.

Egbegbe also conveyed his profound appreciation to the Redeemed Christian Church of God for their steadfast support.

He noted that the church supplied food for him and more than 3,000 other inmates every Sunday throughout his imprisonment.

He said:

“I have done a lot of dirty things in the past but I have never k!lled someone. Famous people were brought to the cell where I was, including ex-Governor Fayose, former INEC chairman, Mompha, etc. In 2020, during COVID, we didn’t appear in court throughout the year. I will advise everyone to flee from cr!me. The Redeemed Church really tried for us in prison. Throughout my stay there, they brought jollof rice, two meat, and bottled water each every Sunday for over 3000 inmates”,.

Egbegbe also recounted meeting prominent individuals during his imprisonment, such as former Governor Fayose and Mompha.

He encouraged others to steer clear of criminal activities, drawing from his own experiences.

Convicted in 2017 for defrauding Bureau de Change operators, Egbegbe was released from prison on October 12, 2022.
