The trial involving Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has been postponed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Life Camp, Abuja.
The court fixed a new date — April 8, 2026 — to continue hearing the assault and battery case filed against the rapper, whose real name is Odumodublvck (Tochukwu Ojogwu).
Why the Case Was Adjourned
During the recent court sitting, both legal representatives were present. Counsel to the claimant, Uchenna Ojembe, and defense lawyer Taiwo Akinsulie appeared before the court. However, due to ongoing renovation work inside the courtroom, proceedings could not move forward as planned.
To avoid further disruption, both parties agreed on April 8, 2026, as a convenient date to ensure the matter proceeds without logistical challenges.
Who Filed the Lawsuit?
The case was instituted by fellow Nigerian musician Kraziecent, whose real name is Ogbogiri Okey Levi.
According to reports by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Kraziecent alleged that Odumodublvck physically assaulted him during a public event held in December 2024.
Details of the Alleged Incident
In court documents, Kraziecent claimed that the altercation occurred while he was capturing photos and videos at the event. He alleged that the rapper attacked him without provocation.
The claimant further stated that the incident left him emotionally distressed and led to damage to his iPhone 15 Pro Max.
N2 Billion Compensation Demand
Beyond covering medical expenses, Kraziecent is demanding ₦2 billion in damages from the rapper. The lawsuit also requests that Odumodublvck issue a public apology across all his social media platforms and publish the apology in at least two national newspapers.
Other reliefs were also outlined in the legal filing, although full details are yet to be made public.
What Happens Next?
With the case now adjourned, attention shifts to April 8, 2026, when both parties are expected to return to court for the continuation of the trial. The outcome of the case could have significant implications for both artists, especially considering the scale of the compensation being sought.
As the legal battle unfolds, fans and industry watchers will be closely monitoring developments surrounding one of Nigeria’s most talked-about rap stars.
