Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have warmed the hearts of residents in the Rumudara community of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with a remarkable act of kindness. Through their Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, the couple distributed essential items to uplift the lives of community members on December 30, 2024.
The foundation, an outreach arm of Mercy Chinwo’s Grace and Truth Nation (GNT) Music Label, provided bags of rice, garri, cartons of tomato paste, and tubers of yams to those in need. The initiative also included cash gifts and clothing materials, ensuring that the elderly, single mothers, and disadvantaged residents had a memorable festive season.
Pastor Uzochikwa emphasized that the foundation’s work is rooted in the principles of love and giving, as exemplified by Christ. “Love is about giving, and that is why the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation has made it a central idea to share the love of Jesus Christ with people who don’t know where their next meal would come from,” he said.
The foundation’s goal extends beyond providing food items, focusing on empowering recipients to achieve sustainable livelihoods. “The goal is not just giving them food items but empowering and establishing them to have sustainable means of income,” Pastor Uzochikwa added.
