A Nigerian man has publicly expressed outrage after police officers allegedly damaged his car less than 24 hours after he purchased it for ₦27 million.

In a widely shared video on X (formerly Twitter), the man showcased the severe damage inflicted on his newly acquired vehicle, voicing his frustration and dismay.

The footage also captured the officers involved in the incident, as well as a crowd gathering at the chaotic scene. Additionally, the video showed a man on a hospital bed and a woman, reportedly victims of the same incident.

In an emotional outburst, the man lamented: “Look at what they did to my car. I bought this car yesterday for ₦27 million. I didn’t do anything to them.”

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many users condemning the actions of the police. Comments from concerned individuals flooded social media, calling for reform and accountability.

Here are a few reactions:

@sucreblazing: “Not a day passes without the Nigerian police being in the news for misconduct. The system needs a complete overhaul.”

@BigWeezyOma: “The FG should consider sending recruits to the USA or UK for proper training. Just a suggestion.”

@IFconsults: “I don’t know the full story, but you probably should have just stopped. The worst they could have done was arrest you.”

@ThinkWonderfuly: “It seems like you might have been trying to escape.”

@bleedingpencilb: “The NPF is pushing us to our limits.”
