Nollywood actor Kanayo Kanayo has called out Nigerians who exhibit a lack of gratitude.

Taking to his Instagram page, he questioned why people are so ungrateful, reflecting on instances where someone sends money, only to receive a mere “Seen” in response.

Labeling this as an “inheritance mentality,” he emphasized that unspoken gratitude is essentially ingratitude.

He reminded entitled Nigerians that receiving money from someone is not a right, urging them to be grateful for any favor received.

“Why are people so ungrateful? You do them a favor by sending them money, and the person responds with just ‘seen’. Do you think it is your right? That’s an inheritance mentality. Gratitude unspoken is ingratitude spoken. It isn’t your right; learn to be grateful for whatever anyone does for you. This way, the person will be inclined to do more.”

Supporting his stance, a user named Oluchukwu commented, “Appreciation is the secret of elevation. Do it, and thank me more.”

Hito Delights wrote, “Deep. A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.”

Ped4real remarked, “Odiegwu. The level of entitlement in our society is weird.”

Monday Sinclair stated, “Poor people and pride are 5&6.”

King_Jsg added, “Don’t mind them, sir. They have sacrificed their gratitude for pride.”

Mr. Elvis Kobi observed, “It’s pride mixed with jealousy and insecurities. Some can’t believe you’re the one bailing them out and would rather trade places.”

Kanayo Kanayo is not the only celebrity addressing this issue. In March, Yul Edochie sent a message to entitled family members, friends, and fans, asserting that nobody owes anyone anything, and the only money one is entitled to is the one they work for.

Similarly, Nigerian comedian-turned-prophet Woli Arole urged Nigerians to be appreciative of those living overseas, noting that they can’t always send money as they are often overworked.
