Popular Nigerian social media influencer and outspoken critic, VeryDarkMan, has raised alarm over an alleged threat to his life, which he claims is linked to Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
The allegation was made on Friday afternoon through a viral video shared on Instagram, where VeryDarkMan appeared visibly distressed while addressing Nigerians.
Background of the Controversy
The development comes amid a heated public dispute between VeryDarkMan and popular content creator King Mitchy. The feud reportedly began after King Mitchy renovated a public school within six days, a project she said was supported financially by Seyi Tinubu.
VeryDarkMan, however, questioned King Mitchy’s transparency, accusing her of failing to properly account for public donations she had reportedly received since 2025. In response, he alleged that Seyi Tinubu was directly sponsoring her charity activities, a claim that further fueled tensions between all parties involved.
Alleged Threat Messages and Phone Calls
In a new video, VeryDarkMan claimed that his life was being threatened and urged Nigerians to hold Seyi Tinubu and King Mitchy responsible if anything happened to him.
According to him, King Mitchy allegedly sent a message to his associate, Kokopee, expressing fear after a phone conversation with Seyi Tinubu. VeryDarkMan said the message suggested that Seyi Tinubu was extremely angry and that the situation had become serious.
He further alleged that King Mitchy was so frightened that she wanted to urgently meet with him to “settle the matter” and appease Seyi Tinubu.
Claims of Influence and Fear for Safety
During the emotional video, VeryDarkMan accused Seyi Tinubu of being highly influential and powerful, claiming he could allegedly influence top security agencies such as the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services.
He stated that the alleged threats were connected to his outspoken criticism of the current government, stressing that his activism had put him in danger.
“My life is being threatened. I don’t feel safe. If anything happens to me or anyone close to me, Nigerians should hold Seyi Tinubu and King Mitchy responsible,” he said
Public Reaction and Growing Concern
The video has since gone viral, sparking widespread debate across social media platforms. While some Nigerians have called for a proper investigation into the allegations, others have urged all parties involved to resolve the matter peacefully and transparently.
As of the time of this report, neither Seyi Tinubu nor King Mitchy has publicly responded to the allegations.
