Victor Osimhen potential transfer to Chelsea and Al-Ahli has reportedly fallen through.

Chelsea’s attempts to secure the Nigerian striker on transfer deadline day were unsuccessful, meaning that unless circumstances change significantly, Osimhen will not be moving to Stamford Bridge.

It has also been confirmed that Osimhen will remain with Napoli as a proposed move to Saudi Arabia has also collapsed.

Al-Ahli had been in negotiations for the Serie A title winner but instead decided to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford for £40 million.

This leaves Osimhen’s playing time in doubt until January, as Antonio Conte reportedly has no plans to include him in Napoli’s line-up, with Romelu Lukaku now in the squad.

Meanwhile, on social media platform X, fans have urged the Nigerian striker to apologise to former Super Eagles manager, Finidi George, following a past disagreement.

One fan commented, “Osimhen needs to apologise publicly to Finidi George. Without it, his progress in European football could be hindered.”

Another fan added, “Osimhen disrespected Finidi George, and now he’s facing the consequences in his career.”

The controversy arose when Finidi allegedly questioned Osimhen’s commitment to the national team after he missed the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic. Osimhen responded on Instagram Live, insisting that he was unfairly criticised and had asked to stay with the players in camp, but Finidi had told him to stay with his family instead. Osimhen further stated that he had lost respect for the Nigerian football veteran and would not tolerate any more disparaging comments.
