The father of gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, who was recently arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, Salome, has begged the Nigerian government to release his son.
In an interview with Channels TV, the distraught father appealed to the authorities to intervene on his son’s behalf.
Timileyin Ajayi was arrested after he was found with Salome’s severed head, which he had allegedly cut into pieces. The gruesome incident sparked widespread outrage and horror among Nigerians.
The father said, “Abeg, make you help me beg the government, make dem settle……help me beg them, make dem leave am”.
While the father is pleading for his son’s release, Timileyin’s mother has taken a different stance. She stated that she would allow the law to take its course, adding that she wouldn’t be happy if the same were to have been done to one of her daughters.
