The Nigeria Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) has revealed five new members ahead of the 97th Academy Awards, scheduled for March 2, 2025.
NOSC, led by Stephanie Linus, has announced the appointment of Ali Nuhu, Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation; film producer Blessing Egbe; prominent journalist and film critic Victor Akande; Kene Okwuosa, Group Chief Executive Officer of Filmhouse Cinemas; and actress Ijeoma Agu as its newest members.
The committee noted that these five new members will join the returning team, which includes Stephanie Linus, who leads the group; Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde; Victor Okhai; Andy Amenechi; Yibo Koko; Izu Ojukwu; Dimeji Ajibola; Emem Isong; Jude Idada; Meg Otanwa; and John Njamah.
The statement emphasized that the inclusion of these new members, who come from diverse creative fields, will undoubtedly enrich the process of selecting Nigeria’s best film.
