Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has alleged that Davido orchestrated his arrest for defamation.
In a series of posts on his X account, Dammy Krane claimed he was detained unlawfully by the police under Davido’s orders.
He also suggested that there were plans to falsely accuse him of involvement in cryptocurrency fraud following his arrest.
In his posts, Dammy Krane expressed his concerns and urged netizens to hold Davido accountable if anything were to happen to him. “If anything happens to me, @davido should be held responsible.
Davido has bribed them to arrest me. They filed a false petition, claiming I’m involved in Flutterwave and crypto scams just to justify my arrest.
This is how they exploit corrupt officers to tarnish the police force’s reputation,” he wrote on X.
Gistme9ja notes that the conflict between Dammy Krane and Davido began in 2023 when Dammy Krane accused Davido of a debt.
Davido responded by labeling Krane as ungrateful. Since then, Krane has continued to criticize Davido online, even alleging that Davido was involved in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike.
Tagbo Umeike passed away in 2017 from suspected alcohol poisoning following a birthday party at Shisha Lounge in Lekki, Lagos State.
During a live performance, veteran fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM 1 De Ultimate, intervened in the dispute by urging Dammy Krane and Davido to make peace.
