Nigerian singer Fave has sparked conversations online after raising concerns over an alleged directive preventing artistes from organizing music concerts in Nigeria during the Islamic Ramadan period.

The Baby Riddim crooner took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to express frustration after her plans to host a birthday concert on March 13 reportedly hit a major roadblock.

According to the singer, promoters informed her that music shows are not allowed during Ramadan, which coincides with her birthday this year.

“So I was tryna do a show in Nigeria on my birthday this year but they’re telling me shows aren’t allowed during Ramadan? I’m a little confused,” Fave wrote.

In a follow-up post, the singer revealed that multiple promoters had declined her proposed show, citing the same reason.

She explained that despite reaching out repeatedly, her team kept receiving feedback that concerts could not be organized during the Ramadan period.

Fave further shared her personal perspective on the situation, stating that while she respects all religions, Ramadan should not interfere with her work or business.

The singer noted that she is a Christian and grew up in southern Nigeria, where she said she had little exposure to Ramadan practices until later in life.

“I respect all religions. But I’m Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday,” she wrote, appealing to potential organizers who may be willing to help bring her birthday concert to life.

The singer’s comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some supporting her stance on artistic freedom and others emphasizing the importance of respecting religious sensitivities during the holy month.

As discussions continue, fans are hopeful that a compromise can be reached to allow Fave celebrate her birthday milestone with her supporters in Nigeria.
