Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua recently paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence, where he presented him with an autographed glove.
The glove was inscribed with a special message: “To the Great Asiwaju Jagaban Borgu of Africa, Bola A. Tinubu.” This heartfelt gesture was shared by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on his X handle.
Joshua’s visit comes on the heels of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s announcement to build an Anthony Joshua Indoor Boxing Ring in the state. The governor also revealed that Joshua will be lighting the Gateway Games National Sports Festival torch in May 2025. Abiodun expressed his enthusiasm for Joshua’s involvement, stating that the construction of the boxing ring will encourage Joshua to visit his hometown more frequently.
