Sean Kingston, a well-known singer in the United States, has been charged with wire fraud worth $1 million.
Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were indicted on Friday by a federal court in Miami.
According to the scam, payments were made through banks that were never completed, which led to the accumulation of more than $1 million in property.
Five counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to conduct fraud were brought against the pair. after their purported attempt to scam vendors of jewelry, luxury cars, and other items bought using fictitious documents.
In their own words, the defendants “unjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed monetary payment transfers,” according to the Southern District of Florida United States Attorney’s Office.
Gistme9ja reported that the singer was taken into custody in California in May of 2024. The same day his mother was detained, his South Florida estate was raided.
