Nigerian gospel minister and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has opened up about a dramatic encounter he described as a spiritual attack that ultimately failed.
The worship leader recounted the experience during a recent worship session, explaining how a man he referred to as a “juju man” allegedly tried to place him under a spell along an express road.
Second Encounter on the Expressway
According to Bassey, the incident was not the first time he had seen the individual. He revealed that it was actually the second encounter with the same man.
The pastor said the man approached his vehicle and knocked on the window while allegedly attempting to cast an enchantment. Bassey claimed the man appeared to be trying to influence or command him to act in a certain way.
Rather than panic, however, the gospel singer said he responded calmly.
“I just stood there and laughed,” he recounted, explaining that he began declaring Bible verses as a response.
Declaring Scriptures in the Face of Fear
Bassey said he quoted scriptural passages affirming divine protection. One of the verses he referenced was, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.”
He also cited Numbers 23:23, which states: “There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.”
According to him, the man lingered at the scene, seemingly waiting for the supposed spell to take effect. But Bassey expressed confidence that the attempt would not succeed because of his faith.
Regret Over Not Involving Law Enforcement
The pastor further revealed that he eventually stepped out of his vehicle and ordered the man to leave. Reflecting on the incident, he admitted he regretted not holding the individual until the police arrived.
Despite the intensity of the story, Bassey emphasized that his intention in sharing the testimony was not to magnify evil. Instead, he said he wanted to highlight what he believes is the reality of spiritual warfare and the power of faith.
A Message About Faith and Protection
Nathaniel Bassey’s account has sparked conversations among his followers, with many discussing themes of spiritual protection, faith, and the role of prayer in confronting challenges.
For the gospel minister, the experience served as a reminder of his belief in divine covering and the authority of scripture in moments of confrontation.
