Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has spoken honestly about the way people perceive his personal life, admitting that he is often misunderstood.
In a recent interview, the award-winning singer addressed one of the biggest labels that has followed him throughout his career being called a womanizer. According to 2Baba, that perception doesn’t fully capture who he truly is.
“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womanizer. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” he said.
Beyond the headlines and public opinions, 2Baba opened up about what matters most to him his children. The legendary artist, who is a father of eight, described fatherhood as one of the most emotional and complex parts of his life.
While he says he feels deeply blessed to have his children, he admitted that his demanding music career has sometimes kept him away longer than he would have liked.
“I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he shared.
Despite that regret, 2Baba spoke proudly of his children, describing them as brilliant and a constant source of happiness and inspiration in his life.
Responding to Claims About His Wife
The African Queen crooner also addressed public comments about his wife, Natasha, particularly claims suggesting that she is controlling. He dismissed those opinions, stating that people often misinterpret what they see from the outside.
According to him, Natasha is a strong, intelligent woman, and while public scrutiny comes with fame, it can still be painful at times.
The Man Behind the Fame
Away from the stage lights and roaring crowds, 2Baba says he is quite different from the energetic performer fans see. He revealed that he is naturally shy and prefers a calm, quiet lifestyle.
Although his profession requires him to be outgoing and constantly in the public eye, he explained that he truly enjoys simple moments relaxing alone, spending time in nature, and staying away from noise.
Through it all, 2Baba’s reflections show a man balancing fame, family, and personal growth determined to live authentically despite public judgment.
