Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered himself to the police after being declared wanted. According to reports, Portable turned himself in at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba, Lagos, and is currently being transported to Ogun State to face further questioning.
The singer had been declared wanted by the police on Monday after allegedly assaulting three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. In a bizarre twist, Portable had claimed on Tuesday that he was a “madman” receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, in an attempt to plead with Nigerians and the Ogun State Government.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t Portable’s first run-in with the law. In 2022, he reported himself to the Ogun State Police Command headquarters after being accused of assaulting a young man known as DJ Chicken.
