A recent incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has left many in shock, and now, the Head of Department (HOD) of History and International Studies, Dr. Ikenna Odife, has broken his silence on the matter. The incident involved a female student, Precious Mbakwe, who was captured on video physically assaulting a lecturer for interrupting her dance video.
Dr. Odife expressed his distress over the incident, describing it as “inexplicable and condemnable.” He emphasized the need for an investigation into Precious’s psychological stability, suggesting that her behavior may be a sign of deeper issues.
“We need to investigate her background, from her childhood to her time as a university student,” Dr. Odife said. “This investigation should be holistic, and we should interrogate her background to understand what may have led to this behavior.”
The university management has already set up a committee to investigate the incident, and it’s clear that they’re taking the matter seriously.
