A student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) who was caught on video attacking a lecturer has shared her side of the story, apologizing for her actions. The incident, which went viral on social media, showed the student slapping, biting, and tearing the lecturer’s clothes.
In a post on Instagram the student explained that she was recording a video with a friend when the lecturer suddenly pushed her from behind and said “excuse me.” Feeling disrespected and unaware that he was a lecturer, she responded angrily.
The situation escalated when the lecturer grabbed her phone from behind, leading to a struggle. The phone fell and broke, and the lecturer then held onto her chest region, which she found disrespectful as a woman. In the heat of the moment, she bit his hand and accidentally tore his shirt.
The student acknowledged that she didn’t mean to disrespect the lecturer and was acting under duress to protect her dignity and interests as a woman. She apologized for her reactions and hoped that the situation could be resolved peacefully.
