The Lagos State Police have arrested Stella Nwadón, the teacher who was caught on video physically assaulting a 3-year-old student, Abayomi Michael, at Christ-Mitóns School in Ikorodu.
The arrest comes after widespread outrage and calls for justice following the release of the disturbing video. In the video, Stella Nwadón is seen repeatedly striking the young child while attempting to teach him how to write numbers.
Activist Adetoun Lanre Adénìyì had demanded the immediate closure of the school, condemning the teacher’s actions as “immoral behavior.”
The Lagos State Police have confirmed the arrest, and an investigation is ongoing.
