Nollywood actor Stephen Alajemba, popularly known as Uwaezuoke, recently shared his unconventional views on marriage, suggesting that men should consider having multiple wives for their own well-being. In his perspective, men who marry fewer than three wives may face a higher risk of harm from their spouses, particularly through acts of poisoning. Alajemba voiced these opinions during an interview with Ugwumba TV, where he elaborated on his stance.
Alajemba explained that he considers it a “sin” for a man to have only one or two wives, claiming that a marriage with three or more wives offers a safer, more stable household dynamic. According to him, with just one or two wives, there is a greater likelihood that the wives may collude against the husband. In contrast, he argues, with three or more wives, each woman remains more independent, less likely to form alliances, and more focused on her own responsibilities, allowing the husband to manage each relationship separately and maintain a sense of balance in his household. This outlook, although controversial, reflects Alajemba’s belief in polygamy as a means of ensuring personal security and harmony in family life.
